an affirmation of personhood, of before and after, of staying up late and cartwheeling in foreign zip codes and of long distance phone calls. and of doing things you love, doing things with love, and always feeling grateful for having it, for having so much of it in late night phonemes and phone calls, in plane tickets and pieces of larger things. in anticipation of drives across open fields in the daytime, of making the best of what you've been given, of taking the best things as they are and leaving the worst as they come.

too much time awake, too much time with rabbit hearts pounding in our throats to get to the next things to jump and jump and jump

what we need are occasional inflatable spheres and the unification of theory + practice and more precisely formed calories and notes in mailboxes and erroneous navigational signals that force us into 1, 2, 3...

step towards these endings from a different direction with sleep in your eyes and your heart in your hands, throwing that wholeness down again and again waiting for warm afternoons in the sun and two shots of espresso to remind you that it is enough, just enough, and that there will be more than weekly checkpoints and harried drives through opaque air and an odd number of parallel lines
