tim knowles

exciting work from tim knowles.

from his website on the 'tree drawing series:
"A series of drawings produced using drawing implements attached to the tips of tree branches, the wind’s effects on the tree, recorded on paper. Like signatures each drawing reveals the different qualities and characteristics of each tree."

there is a lot of complexity that is implied within the work, especially by cleverly referencing the classic natural theme of trees within historic artistic landscapes, and resituating them into the role of the 'artist'. the work also emphasizes the influence of external meterologic forces, calling into attention the poignant repitition of small moving gestures.
