paho mann

In a world riddled with uncertainty, Paho Mann's Sort series seems especially poignant in its attempt to collect, categorize, and juxtapose the unexpected byproducts of everyday life into a more cohesive whole. In addition to creating several series of collections created through the guidelines of somewhat arbitrary constraints, the viewer is invited to voyeuristically observe the artifacts of living that coexist with the more temporal detritus. By creating an interactive web experience that utilizes the pulldown menus that we have become accustomed to expect as a means of categorization and navigation within our digi-centric lifestyles, Mann cooperates with our innate propensity to create a concrete order within the discrete layers of relationships found within day-to-day experience.
